Gaynell, Katrina and Otto
Press & Release Entertainment was formed in October of 2006 by Gaynell Rogers and Katrina Markarian, both veterans in the music and film industry.  Specialists in marketing and strategic media campaigns, they bring an amazing range of national and regional experience to their projects.

Gaynell earned first hand experience in branding and product positioning during the time she worked on the initial Levis’ 501 Jeans campaign with Creatives from J. Walter Thompson and the original Crystal Geyser campaign with Foote Cone and Belding in the late 1970’s in San Francisco.  She then enjoyed a long career in the music business as an agent, manager and publicist since 1972, beginning her career in Atlanta, Georgia with the Earthsong/Athena Booking Agency with short stints at The Rosebud Agency and others.
In the 1980’s, she was Studio Manager at Russian Hill Recording in San Francisco, working on over 25 major feature films including “Never Cry Wolf” and “The Right Stuff”.
Since that time, she has also served as a Senior National Publicist for Lucasfilm Ltd. and was Head of Feature Film Publicity for Pixar, working on the releases of ‘The Incredibles’ and ‘Cars.’   She also has extensive non-profit work and handled all the national media for The Polly Klass Foundation.  Her biggest thrill was working media on the Oscars red carpet, escorting the amazing Faye Dunaway for the Academy and Pixar’s Steve Jobs, Brad Bird and John Lasseter into the Kodak Theater in 2005.   She currently manages National Medal of Arts Recipient and Grammy winner Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, as well as eight time Grammy nominee and three time W.C. Handy Award nominee for Best Guitarist, producer/slide guitarist Roy Rogers.

Katrina has been a national and regional publicist since 1992, during which time she worked with San Francisco rock music veteran, Nadine Condon, as head of publicity on the Melissa Ethridge campaign. Katrina merged into work with major and Indie labels, as well as promoted several BMI Showcases and The Gavin Report. One of the BMI Showcases created a major label bidding war for The Counting Crows.  In 2002, Morty Wiggins, the President of 33rd Street Records, hired Katrina as an in-house publicist for the label. Katrina integrated with promoters and producers all over the country, supporting concerts and tours throughout the year.  Some of her clients included: Melissa Etheridge, Sammy Hagar, Grammy award winners Tuck & Patti, Grammy nominee and award winning producer/slide guitarist Roy Rogers, along with multi – platinum recording artist Ottmar Liebert.  Katrina still possesses an incredible knack to reach the right people at the right time.  One fine example of this was when she joined with The White House during President Clinton’s term for the National Medal Of Arts Ceremonies for recipient Ramblin’ Jack Elliott - coordinating interviews, production and White House clearance and entrance rights for producer Roy Rogers. She gets right to the heart of the task and accomplishes it.

In the non-profit sector, Gaynell and Katrina have worked with and developed communications and PR campaigns for The Bill Graham Foundation, The Polly Klass Foundation for Missing Children, Active Music, Music Inspired by Literature, The Mill Valley Film Festival, Voices of Latin Rock, Marin Breast Cancer Watch, Toys for Tots, Kids at Risk, Kid Street Theatre and the Russian River Jazz Festival.  They are both active members of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

Music clients we have worked with also include: Fats Domino, David Byrne, Kris Kristofferson, John Mayer, Michael Jackson, John Lee Hooker, Ricki Lee Jones, Carlos Santana, Bonnie Raitt, Huey Lewis and Linda Ronstadt.  Film composers include Mark Isham, Alan Silvestri and Gary Remal Malkin.  Film directors and companies that we have worked with include: Lucasfilm and Pixar, along with directors John Lasseter, Brad Bird, Ron Howard, Phillip Kauffman, Erroll Morris and Wayne Wang.
